The 21st Century Board Member: Governing in a time of change
More than 75 guests gathered at the Hilton Hotel in Columbia on November 3 to attend a board development event sponsored by United Way of the Midlands Young Leaders Society. Participants attended a general session moderated by Charles Weathers of The Weathers Group, who sparked conversation between three distinguished panelists: Mason Hardy, president of the South Carolina Association of Nonprofit Organizations; Love Collins III, executive vice president for institutional advancement at Benedict College; and community volunteer Charlotte Berry. Breakout sessions featured three tracks presented by the community's most prominent nonprofit and public sector leaders.
Attendees also donated supplies for National Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week.
